Sue Hyslop designs and makes beautifully crafted pieces of contemporary hardwood furniture. She trained at the London Metropolitan
University in both traditional and modern furniture making techniques. While at college she also gained invaluable work
experience with master craftsman Martin Grierson. She finessed and broadened her skills, and learnt the patience and precision
required to make high quality pieces of furniture.
In 2005, Sue was a founding partner of New Leaf Furniture Makers,
an acclaimed team of three female furniture designer-makers. In April 2008, she branched out on her own, with the development
of Sue Hyslop Furniture.
Sue offers a personal design service working primarily with timber from sustainable sources,
and she aims to make simple things beautifully, resulting in objects of lasting value.
